Dear HOLO Family and Partners,
Because of your generous support, we have wonderful news to share:
The children of Home of Love Orphanage have finished their second term strong!
As many of you know, the Ugandan school calendar runs in three terms:
Term 1: January - March | April Break
Term 2: May - July | August break
Term 3: September - November | December break
The children are now home with us for their August holiday – a well-deserved one-month break after three months of hard work.
And what a term it has been! By the grace of God, only one child battled malaria this term - a true answer to prayer in a region where waterborne and mosquito-borne illnesses are common. John 10:10 tells us the thief comes to steal health, but Jesus came to give us life. We are seeing that abundant life.
Academically, the children excelled. Their report cards reflect diligence, growth and joy in learning. We are incredibly proud of each one of them. Your gifts put books in their hands, teachers in their classrooms, and food on their plates so they can focus on studying. Thank you.
Holiday Time: Connecting to Roots
Every holiday, we send our children who have living relatives to spend a few days in their home villages. This time is precious! It helps them know where they come from, understand their culture, and build relationships with their aunties, uncles and grandparents.
While the children visit with their living relatives, this also gives our dedicated HOLO staff a few days to rest and tend to their own gardens. They pour out daily, and we are grateful they can be refreshed.
Looking Ahead: Third Term
The children return to school in early September for third term - the final push of the academic year. We are praying for health, focus and continued breakthroughs for each child.
Friends, we couldn’t do this without you! Your support is the reason a child who was once alone now has school fees paid, malaria treated and a safe place to come home to on holidays.
You are standing in the gap against the thief who wants to steal their future (John 10:10).
